  • Rid yourself of shame: There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” —Romans 8:1. What God did for you and me at Calvary’s cross means you no longer stand accused. So stop blaming yourself for things that have already happened. Leave your past in the past. Your sin is forgotten by a loving and sanctifying God who delivers his daughters.
  • Stop worrying about what others think: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives”Luke 4:18  The need for approval keeps your mind captive. You become a slave to what others think of you; you do things and say things to please others–How utterly boring is that?! Be boundless: gracefully do and say what you must, and remember–Jesus was the ultimate non-conformist.
  • Stop the InsecurityDo not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” —Philippians 4:6-9  Insecurity stems from measuring yourself against others; someone will always be: more-skilled, prettier, smarter, or richer than you. And so what? !  Live in the moment and accept yourself, already!  Your shape, your face, your talents, your bank account, etc. Better to be thankful with what you have and invest in ways of becoming a brighter-hued version of you!
  •  Quit Your Whining: “Do all things without grumbling or questioning”–Philippians 2:14 Those who nag and complain aren’t fun to be around. Life is the blessing. To whine or nag about temporary circumstances is to hurt the heart of God. Being content honors where you are in your particular life journey. Be grateful, it’s good for the soul and bones. A peaceful spirit manifests joy when one practices gratitude.

As you navigate faith on earth and grown in spiritual refinement, freedom from your carnal nature occurs. Each day is a gift; and God’s free gifts provide opportune moments to grow in Christ-likeness.
